Presentation translator not in the list of file types due to not installed.
Cause:
The correct presentation translator is unavailable in the 'Open' dialog box.
NOTE: MS PowerPoint can open a presentation from another program if the correct presentation translator is installed. If a particular presentation translator is unavailable in the 'Open' dialog box, a translator for that file type was not added during Setup.
Solution:
Install the necessary presentation translator(s).
NOTE: Make sure there are no applications running before proceeding.
1) Click 'Start' to display the Windows 'Start' menu.

2) Select 'Settings' and select 'Control Panel'.

3) Open the 'Add/Remove Programs' icon. (The Add/Remove Program Properties dialog box appears.)
4) Click the 'Install/Uninstall' tab.
5) Select 'Microsoft Office' from the list of installed applications.

6) Click 'Add/Remove...'.
7) Insert the Office 95 installation CD ROM or diskette when prompted. (After a few seconds, the Welcome to Installation - Maintenance Program dialog box appears.)

8) Click 'Add/Remove...'.
9) Select the 'Microsoft PowerPoint' check box in the 'Options' list box.
10) Click 'Change Option...'.
11) Select 'Presentation Translators' from the 'Options' list box.
12) Click 'Change Option...'. (A dialog box containing a list of installed components appears.)
13) Select the desired translator check boxes in the 'Options' list box, or select 'Select All' to install all the translators.
14) Click 'OK'. (The Maintenance Program dialog box reappears.)
15) Click 'OK'.
16) Click 'Continue'. (The selected translators are installed.)
